I really like devising and running workshops, as you work with so many other people both in the planning and the participating. I've worked with lots of children of all ages in schools and libraries and taught a weekly class for adults for two years. I particularly like trying out interesting new materials and unlikely inspirations. Printing with cheese was fun, smelling rotten cabbage was a fruitful spur for some amazing character design, and blu tac is one of my all-time favourite materials. Lockdown prompted me to create creative activities that can be used at arm's-length: a series of activity sheets for Edinburgh Libraries (the full set can be accessed here: here...) and Zoom games and stories in my local community. I recently enjoyed a few months of developing work for the Scottish Book Trust's Bookbug programme, working with under-5's on drawing along to songs and rhymes: see me at work here!
